Backpacking in the Sawtooths
We went on a brothers backpacking trip to the Sawtooth mountains. Here is the gang on the way out from the car.
This is what the lower country looked like.
There must of been a microburst here about a week prior that devastated the trees over a couple hundred yard area.
This is the lake we camped at. It was at a medium altitude. There was still quite a bit of snow, but we had a nice place to pitch our tent.
On the second day we did a day hike up to the higher altitude lakes. The streams were all full due to the melting snow and created a beautiful waterfall.
The higher up we got, the more snow we had to hike through. It was pretty hard packed and was easy to walk on. It was probably around 75 degrees even at the highest point we went to.
The highest lake in the drainage. Still covered in snow and ice.
On the way back down, we found this snowfall and waterfall. Notice the skier about to jump off the cliff.
It was a great trip and lot’s of fun to spend time with my brothers.
