Misc Good Stuff

We went on a Costco run last night, only to find that Costco closes at 6 on Saturdays.  Lame.  Macey’s is next door, so we decided to go there instead.  First stop was to get a Baby Kong cone.  Ashley was very interested in the cone so I let her have some.  Kathryn caught us in the act.

Kathryn has been playing the violin a lot lately.  Ashley recently figured out how to make lip smacking sounds.  One time when we were in listening to Kathryn play, she was really going at it.  We caught her in action.  See the video below.

We had combined activity game night at our house.  Turns out we probably set a record for mutual attendance.  We had over 35 people crammed into our front room.  I’m going to bet this is an all time record for this 61 year old house, at least number of people in the front room.  We played a variety of games inside and outside the house.  It was lots of fun.  The only mishap was the decapitation of the sole pumpkin in our garden.  It was the victim of a rambunctious capture the flag game.  Oh well, it was growing in the grass so at least I don’t have to mow around it anymore.

Weddings

Kathryn had two friends get married recently.  The first was one of her freshmen friends Aly.  The wedding was a fun reminder of our own wedding over three years ago.  They were married in the Salt Lake Temple by the same Sealer that married us.  It was a very neat experience to sit in the sealing room contemplating the last three years and the experiences we’ve had together since kneeling at the alter ourselves.  After the wedding, they had a luncheon in the Wasatch room, which was were we had our wedding dinner.  Again, lots of fun to remember back to our fantastic wedding.

The second friend to get married was Lydia.  She is one of Kathryn’s oldest (longest) friends.  They had their reception at the “This is the Place Heritage Park”.  Kathryn’s mom was playing in a violin quartet there, and Kathryn stepped in and played for a couple of songs.  It’s always a treat to get to see Kathryn perform.
