Ashley is 10

Happy Birthday Ashley! Our little girl is growing up so fast. I can’t believe she’s 10 now. And we’re getting older too haha.

German Pancakes of course.

Presents!!

Fully loaded up for school with class treats and a “special birthday” lunch.

Friend birthday party. Landon and I were severely outnumbered. The theme of the night was art. So, we had an Italian dinner to start the night off.

Then we went to Wildflower Pottery and Ceramics in Spanish Fork to paint some ceramic pieces. It’s kinda of like Color Me Mine if you’ve been there.

Then back to the house for cupcakes and presents. What a fun day!

Earlier in the week, Ashley and her group put on a Music Review concert. She’s been going to school earlier a couple times a week to practice. She sang a few lines solo of the Beatles song Let It Be and then went and joined in the group. She did great! They also sang some other fun group songs and had some other solo numbers from the kids. We were really proud of Ashley.

Afterwards, we came back to the house for dinner with Tim and Suzanne and Ashley got her present from them. A SKH original of Kacho as a puppy. She was all smiles.

I loved this picture of Tim sharing videos from when the kids were younger and them all piled around and watching. So fun. These are such fun moments. Thanks Tim and Suzanne for coming to support Ashely and hang out.

Not related to Ashley’s birthday, but a couple of other fun moments. This was Zoey’s creation from church. Heart melter.

Check out this print. It’s a collapsible Katana sword, super sized!

Zoey is 2

Happy Birthday Zoey!

For Zoey’s birthday weekend, we took a trip up to visit the family in Idaho. We made a stop at Smith and Edwards and Maddox on the way. Those rolls and raspberry butter are just magical.

Kennecott Copper Mine

I remember going to the Kennecott Copper Mine with Aunt Cindy one time when I was a kid. The vast scale of the operation made an impression on me. I remember that we saw a blasting while we were there too. We had an open day here, so we so we decided to make a trip out to the mine and see it with our family. It was really interesting to learn more about the big slide from 2013.  And the vast size is just as impressive as an adult as when I was a kid.

We totally lucked out and were there for a blast. Very impressive to watch.

Everything is so large. It warps your sense of scale when you’re looking at the equipment moving in the distance.

I would definitely recommend checking it out. It was well worth the effort to see. If you want to learn more of the details and the rest of the mining process, they have a really great interactive tour you can see here: https://www.youvisit.com/tour/riotinto
