2025 Idaho City 100
In the years following the 2018 Idaho City 100 race, a desire to run it again has been slowly building. This year, I decided the time had finally come and I wanted to make it happen. At long last, the day came. Check in went a lot smoother this time. No beer can muffler modifications, and no last minute scrambles.

After check in, I went and stayed at James and Ericas house and had a fun time visiting them. Then it was back up to Idaho City in the morning for the riders meeting and waiting for my time. The way this race works is you have a designated start time. Mine was 10:03 am. You have a certain number of minutes to make it to each check point. For every minute late to a checkpoint, you accumulate 60 points. Then in between most of the checkpoints, there is a special test section. Here there is a start and finish and you are timed between those points, accumulating 1 point per second.
Here is the schedule showing the times for the different classes. I raced in the B class.

Starting line watching the first riders roll out at 9:01 am.

10 minutes before you start time, you can go get your bike out of the impound and get ready to ride. Almost time!!!

And we’re off!
Here is a video from the first special test.
At one of the checkpoints, I had a few minutes to take a short break and get some food. It was super dusty.

A little action shot from on the trail.

And 7 hours and 15 minutes later, finish!!! Made it! The 105.1 mile track in all its glory.

The stats:
- Total Time: 7:12 total time allotment. 7:15 my time. (I was 3 minutes late to my last checkpoint, but on time for all the other check points.)
- Total Milage: 105.1 miles
- Temperature: 90 degrees
- 19.4 minutes behind the overall B class winner
- 14 minutes behind my B4 class winner
- Overall B I finished 68/150
- In my B4 class, I finished 15/27
I finished with good enough time to qualify for a Silver Medal. Wahoo!
Perhaps the biggest accomplishment this time vs the 2018 race is I was able to walk afterwards. Sure, I was a touch sore, but last time I was so sore I had to walk down stairs backwards.
It was kind of a crazy weekend. The kids came up to Idaho with me and had Farm Camp. Meanwhile, Kathryn stayed home and played a gig and had some fun with girl friends.
