Hikes with Kathryn

We checked off a bucket list item for Kathryn, getting her up to the top of Mount Timp. We started off with a “training” hike up to the saddle of Maple Mountain / Spanish Fork Peak. It was a lot of fun to look down on our neck of the woods from our mountain. We were both pretty sore after the hike, not having hiked all that much this summer.

On Labor Day, Suzanne was so nice and she came down and picked up the kids in the morning and took them up to the cabin for the day. Meanwhile, Kathryn and I headed out a little after 3am and started on the trail right after 4 am. Lots of people up ahead of us that started even sooner.

I love watching the sunrise progress.

The mountain goats were out.

The glorious dawn

We made the peak. Awesome! Way to go Kathryn!

We enjoyed watching the mountain goats navigate their way down this cliff. They all made it down safe and sound, and caused quite a few rock slides in the process.

Cool refreshing spring water.

It really is a beautiful mountain

After the hike, we spent the rest of the day up at the cabin with Tim and Suzanne, and Sam and Hanna. A fun day off and a great accomplishment.
