Weekend Parties
Kathryn recently joined the Timpangos Symphony Orchestra and she had her first concert this weekend. Mom and Dad drove down for the occasion. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them. Thanks for coming!
We enjoyed a fun lunch at Cracker Barrel in Springville.
The orchestra was fantastic. They played Beethoven’s 5th Symphony for the first half. For the second half they were joined by the Deseret Chamber Singers and performed Ruttenberg’s Magnificant. Here is the Kathryn’s fan club. Gina was so nice to come to the concert too.
For Sunday dinner, we had Kathryn’s family down to our place. Ben was in town for the weekend so we had to make a party of it. We’re always amazed at the number of people we can squeeze into our little kitchen for a party.
Here is little Ashley girl next to pumpkins on the front porch.
Lately I’ve been enjoying 3D printing lots of little things. I printed out a bunch of these little ghosts for decoration for dinner.

Conference Weekend
For General Conference we headed up to the cabin to hang out with Kathryn’s family. It was fall General conference a couple of years ago where we took this famous picture. I say famous because if you’ve been to our house, we have a giant canvas print of it. Or if you’ve been to my work, I have a mouse pad with it.
The colors weren’t quite as spectacular, but still pretty good.
After Priesthood session, the men headed down to Salt Lake for the traditional Kirk family dinner. There were 12+ elk in one of the fields, along with this impressive bull.
Meanwhile, the women were having a fun time shopping at the outlets and eating some good food. Jackie is the girl on the left. She is from Germany and is staying with the Hawkers for a couple weeks while she visits America.
On our way home from the cabin, we drove the Alpine loop. It was jam packed with steady stream of cars, but we still enjoyed the views.
