Cascade Mountain

Cascade Mountain is in the bag! This was a steep sucker. I went on the Upper Pole Couloir route instead of taking the saddle and the ridge line clear across. This route was quite a bit shorter sounded like fun.

The route wasn’t bad, just slow careful going. Here you can seen what the couloir (pronounced /ko͞olˈwär/) looked like.

Looking north to the sister peak with the weather station on it.

I decided to head over and check it out. Here is a view from that spot, looking back south to the main peak.

A nice side shot of Timpanogos.

Deer Creek to the north east.

Awesome pano view of Utah Valley.

Provo Peak

Destination: Provo Peak, starting at the Y trailhead. It was supposed to be a 100 degree day, so I got a nice and early start. On the trail at 5:10 am.

Crazy lush grove up in the saddle above the Y

Amazing panoramic views from the top!

✓Nebo, ✓Santaquin Peak, and ✓Spanish Fork Peak to the South.

Cascade, ✓Timpanogos, and ✓Loan Peak to the North. Of the Wasatch Seven Peaks, I only have Cascade left to do.

July 4th

July 4th!

Lemon-Blueberry Streusel Pie in the making. A guy from work made this and shared it with us. It was so good, so we decided to make it for the holiday.

We biked the Mapleton Canal trail and made it clear to the end with the girls. Zoey was with me in the trailer.

A Utah Valley dirty drink from Fiiz drinks in Mapleton to cool off.

Fireworks time!

We drew a crowd with the neighborhood kids.

Happy Independence Day!

Santaquin Peak and Loafer Mountain

Santaquin Peak is definitely one of the most prominent peaks on the southern end of Utah Valley. It was a very enjoyable hike to the top and had a terrific view of the valley.

Proud flying flag on this 4th of July weekend.

I decided to double up and do Loafer Mountain as well. It had a really great view of Birdseye.

Looking North from Loafer towards Utah Valley. Santaquin peak is the mountain to the left.

I almost had the mountain to myself…
