Happy Easter. What a wonderful holiday to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It seems fitting that after such a long winter, we can enjoy some sunshine and warmth on this special day to help celebrate the great gift of the Atonement and likewise brings warmth and light to us.
It’s been a long time in the making, but I do think that spring has finally sprung. As we are all well aware, this winter has been one for the record books with record breaking snowfall. The snowpack is incredible. I wonder when the mountains will clear enough for the hiking season to start? All told, I think we’ve taken advantage of the snow this year.
We finally got the chance to head up skiing to Brighton with the girls. They did really great and picked things up quickly.
This is a pretty good indicator that we got our money’s worth.
Somewhere on the ski adventure, we picked up this lovely spade bit in the truck tire. Incredibly, it stayed together and we just had to air up the tire and we were able to drive home. The tire was totaled, but luckily they were brand new so I got a replacement tire under warranty at no cost. I thought this was a screwdriver since all that was sticking out was the 1/4″ shank. I couldn’t believe it when the tire guy gave this to me. I’d love to know where and how I picked this up!
We made it up to Filer for Grandpa Gerald’s 93rd birthday party. I had a great time making a blueberry pie with Mom, the master pie chef.

Gymnastics bar in the basement. Huge hit. Eliza and Landon are pretty much full time gymnasts.
Eliza asked if we could go skiing again, so we played hooky from work and school and visited Sundance. No surprise I guess, but they had so much snow up there. When I think of Sundance, I usually think of ice and rock patches, but not this year.
Eliza made a lot of progress and just kept going and going. She found some fun little off trail spots and even got a little air too.
She really was a lot of fun to hang out with for the day!
This is a popular spot in our house. The kids beg us not to finish the basement.
This was a terrific year to own a snowmobile. One for the books for sure. I’ve been going with James Peterson’s uncles quite a few times up around Strawberry and Currant Creek. This had to have been the best day of the year. Two to three feet of fresh powder sitting on an endlessly deep base. I even got stuck on a flat spot and had to dig out.

And here it was. The big kahuna spring storm.
When it was all said and done, we got 10″ out of the storm. Tim and Suzanne got closer to 4 feet from it!
For our Christmas present last year, we got a vacation package from Tim and Suzanna for a stay at the Little America while the kids and Kacho stayed at their house. The kids were out for spring break, so we cashed in on the get away. It was amazing. We did some shopping, ate yummy food, looked at cars, and just had a fun time being together.
So peaceful and relaxing!

With the snow melting and nothing on the long range forecast, I think it’s finally time for spring to stick around. We enjoyed a busy Saturday full of projects and playing outside.
Ashley and Zoey came with me on a Home Depot run for project supplies.
Wait, I though we were done with snow! Not quite. One of the projects we did was to upgrade the bathroom fan. I don’t know what it is, but as I get older, loud white noise bothers me more and more. So, we got one of the quietest fans you can get and put it in. Turned out to be a bit of a project as we had to enlarge the ceiling hole, and deal with the insulation snowing down. Then bagging it all up, and climbing up in the attic like Santa Claus with my big bag to cover everything back up again.
To officially welcome in Spring, we made tinfoil dinners and had smores!
