Landon is 2!

Our little man has turned two.  We sure think Landon’s a cool dude, and we had a lot of fun celebrating his birthday!

Celebratory Landon Pancakes cooking in the oven while Kathryn reads the kids Landon’s baby book. Germans Pancakes are made with milk and butter. Landon Pancakes are made with almond milk and margarine. Still tastes great! Nice work Kathryn.

These girls sure love their little brother.

I think they’re doing a great job at being big sisters.

For a throwback, check out the big sister training post here:  Big Sister Training

Present time!

These kids are growing up so fast we thought we’d get an early jump start on driver’s education.

This car has a reverse gear and two forward speeds.  We originally had the high speed locked out.  The low speed was good on the sidewalk, but it just didn’t have enough goose on the grass, so after both girls demonstrated basic control, we pulled the lockout and let them rip it in the high speed gear.  After Eliza finished up her heat, she came over and told me,

“I like it when it goes fast because it makes my heart beat fast.  When the car goes slower, my heart beats slower.”

For the afternoon, Kathryn put together an awesome Birthday Bash at Jaker’s Jack O Lanterns in Springville.   She baked cupcakes and turned them into cute little pumpkins.  Then she make sack lunches for all of the guests.  She’s amazing.

Party time!

Jaker’s has thousands of bushels of corn for the kids to play in, and the corn pits are always a favorite!

Even Grandma Suzie and Gomp got in on the action.

Another fan favorite is the culvert slide the dumps out into a pile of corn.  A graceful exit by Ashley.

Eliza didn’t stick the landing, but came out smiling.

When Landon came down tandem with Ashley, he full on face planted it right out of the tube.

I found a blue pants, blue shirt, blue eyed cutie in the straw bale kid maze.

After enjoying our amazing sack dinners, it was time for the birthday cupcakes.  This kid LOVES playing with fire!

Time for the corn maze!

This picture is in honor of my dad.

Thank you everyone for loving our little Landon and making his day special

“Helloha” to a new 5 year old

Ladies and Gentlemen, our little Eliza has turned 5!

In honor of our little Hawaii lover Eliza, we had an Island themed party weekend extravaganza up with Mom and Dad in their little piece of tropical paradise.  It was awesome that Josie and Jimmy could bring their kids up for the weekend as well!

Here Kathryn is creating her Narwhal cake masterpiece.

Pool party and shaved ice!

These kids worked tirelessly crafting up a storm.  So many melty beads!

This is quite the cousin gang.

Ought oh.  One of these is not like the others.  What a grin!

Center of attention!  That boy is going to be a real heart breaker.

Hangin with Grandpa Gerald.

Aren’t grandpas the best!

Kathryn and I snuck away and saw Perrine Coulee falls.  I’ve driven right past it a number of times, but never realized it was there.  Definitely worth a quick stop.  It’s right on the way heading down the canyon behind Costco.

All the prep work is finished.  Let’s do this!

French toast with fresh fruit.

Lunch of salmon and rice per Eliza’s request.

Party time.  Shake it like a…Fujifilm Instant picture!?

The party was complete with concert.

Eliza squeeze!

Remember all those melty beads and crafting.  All the cousins were secretly working away making presents for Eliza.  She is one lucky girl!  Check out that haul.

Nothing teaches kids good etiquette like beating on a Flamingo piñata.

Group pic.  You guys are all so great.  Thanks for supporting our Eliza-boo.  You too Jimmy.

Back at our house for the birthday propper German pancakes and presents.  You ARE special Eliza!

We hope you had a great birthday!

Gomp’s 60th at Bear Lake

We recently celebrated Gomp’s 60th birthday with an awesome surprise birthday party weekend at Bear Lake.  Suzanne rented a VRBO so the whole family could stay together.  It was a great weekend with the whole Hawker family and we really had a lot of fun seeing everyone.

Golfing (no pics) and morning beach time.

Afternoon boating adventure.

We brought the Mavic along and I got some footage of Kathryn with the kids out on the “princess puff cloud.”  It was a beautiful day and the water was gorgeous.

Cornhole game on the beach.

Winner winner!

Happy birthday Gomp.  We love you.
