A Green Utah

Utah isn’t always green, but when it is, it sure is extra pretty.  We’ve been enjoying some of the great outdoors lately.

Tin foil dinners up Hobble Creek canyon.

Check out this photo Kathryn framed up when we were up in Park City.  What an eye!

We drove the entire loop between Hobble Creek Canyon and Provo Canyon.  It is always way rockier than I remember.  Here is the post from the last time we made the journey: Going “Jeeping”.  Crazy to look back on that and see how Ashley has grown, and now we have Eliza!

We stopped for some pics at one of the saddles.  It’s not always smiles and hugs, but they sure are fun together when it is.

Popcorn Tree

We don’t have an apricot tree, but we still get popcorn popping in our yard.  It’s a favorite spot for fun pictures.  Here are some from this year on Mother’s day.

Summer of Bike

We finally did it.  One night when Kathryn was off at Orchestra, I took the girls to Walmart and we went bike shopping.  This ultimate pink princess girls bike, complete with streamers, heart pedals, and a super duper cool Mini Mouse Car Seat was the winner that we brought home.  And Ashley loves it!  Eliza was pretty bummed that she didn’t get a new bike, and even went so far as to call me a “mean dad!”  However, I reminded her of that really cool, new, blue motorcycle balance bike that she got for Christmas.  Yes, that same bike that she got and said “that’s not my bike!”  She cheered up when she thought about that bike and realized that life wasn’t so bad after all.  I’m thrilled to report that she has really taken to that bike and I just love watching her ride it.  I love her blond curls sticking out from her helmet. Love love love it!  Now when we go on family walks, we’re the slow ones while the girls zoom off ahead and have to wait for us.  Check out this photo evidence of just how much fun these girls are having on their bikes!

This is the summer of bike.  Check out the smile on this girl!
