Picture Wall

Kathryn designed a picture wall display for our bathroom wall.  I helped her design a 3D printed sign to go along with it.

Kitchen Chair Redesign

It was time to make a change to our kitchen chair situation.  Eliza was outgrowing the highchair and we needed to find a way rearrange kitchen to allow both girls to sit at the table , but not take up too much space in our little kitchen.  Kathryn found these cute little chairs from Ikea that fit in the shorter side of the table perfectly.  The only problem was that Eliza wasn’t quite big enough yet to sit in a chair like this.  She still needs a booster seat.

So what did we do, design one and 3D print it.  I absolutely love having a huge 3D printer at our house.

The finished product.  While not perfect, I think it’s pretty great for a rev 1 prototype.

And here is the proof!

Website Design

We created a website for the violin studio!  I’ve been wanting to do one for years and the time was finally right.  You can check it out at mooreviolin.com.

Here is another website I did for a side project.  This was really the project that I learned a little bit about website development on and used those skills on our violin website.  You can check it out at gadgetsmyth.com.  And if you’re in the market for a tiny ethernet switch, feel free to order one 🙂

Winter to Spring Transition

We think that Spring has finally come for real.  We had a couple of faux springs that quickly ended in winter…

…but now we think we’re there.  The trees sure are in full bloom and the pollen is off the chart.

We’ve really enjoyed this February and March.  The following are some of the fun things we did.

Eliza has really fallen in love with Grandpa Ray.  He’s affectionately referred to as “grandma” from Eliza.

Cream cheese pretzels that put the ones at Disneyland to shame.

Several fun FHEs with Kevin and Bethany.

We’ve got an 18 month old on our hands.  She is a huge nursery fan.

Daddy daughter date night.

Coolest 3D print I’ve ever done.

Best day ever.

Disneyland Trip 2017

Trip Genesis

A little over two years ago, we went to Disneyland with Kathryn’s family for Adams homecoming.  You can see the pics from that trip here: http://kandldesign.com/2014/06/08/disneyland/.  It was on Memorial Day weekend and was the craziest busy day at Disneyland ever.  Two years before that, we went with my family to Disneyland.  This was before kids.  After each trip we’ve basically made the pledge to wait at least 5 years before going again.  So far we’re 0 for 2.   Back around Thanksgiving 2016 Josie and her family were planning a February 2017 Disneyland trip…and we all got suckered into coming and calling it a Moore Family reunion.  Following are some of the highlight pics and vids.

Kathryn wrote this little summary of the trip:

We loved this Disneyland trip because of the fun times with cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandma and grandpa that happened while we were there!  Getting to see the excitement in the girls’ eyes as we entered Disneyland was a total treat. They loved everything about it. It was also a joyous moment was when both Ashley and Eliza zonked out hard in the stroller after having too much fun at Disneyland!  The Disneyland light parade and a hot churro was magical.  Larry and I enjoyed our line-less ride on Splash mountain just before closing time. Ashley and Eliza loved their morning in California Adventure riding the carousel, toy story, and Ariel rides with Grandma Julie and Grandpa Ray. Outside of Ariel’s grotto, the toy story army men drove up and put on a show where Larry was called out as the Tom Cruise Action Figure and got to lead the chant/dance!  That was a very proud moment for us!  Then Eliza wore Kathryn’s big sunglasses and was pleased to look like a little Audrey Hepburn. Having everyone together at the beach was a big highlight too.
