Going “Jeeping”

Here are some fun pictures from our date night adventure.

We started it off with snow cones at the splash pad in Springville.  Then we got some good greasy food from the gas station grill.  After that, we decided to go on a drive up Hobble Creek canyon.  What started as a quick drive ended up into a long, 18 mile rocky windy trip on the road on the backside of Y mountain lasting late into the night.  We did the whole loop and came out in Provo canyon.  It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a long time.  I did it several years ago on a dirt bike with my friend James.  We were glad that Darbus (the CR-V) made it through without any problems.  Ashley was a real trooper and seemed to enjoy the ride.  She even helped out driving for a minute.  We live in a beautiful area!

Disneyland

As part of Adam’s homecoming celebration, we went with the Hawker family to Disneyland!  Two years ago we went to Disneyland with my family.  Laura was 6 months old, so this trip was total deja-vu.  The main difference was that the 6 month old baby was ours this time.  It also wasn’t a threatening rainy couple of days in February with an empty park.  It was super packed, but we still had a great time, and we got to repeat some of our favorite memories from last time.  Monte Cristo sandwich at the Blue Bayou, our favorite rides.  We even got the same amazing dinner at the Cheesecake Factory 🙂  Kathryn convinced me to go on It’s a Small World…and I liked it.  We got to take Ashley to the beach for the first time.

It was just a great trip, and it was lots of fun to have the whole Hawker family together.  Thank you Tim and Suzanne for the great trip!
